A rainy day in Reading

10 June 2014

Our first public workshop took place at the University of Reading on Saturday.

A big thank you to all of the participants who made it through the bad (terrestrial) weather to talk space weather for the day. Six hours seemed to whizz by, aided by plenty of tea and some hefty sandwiches. It was great to hear the buzz of conversation as our enthusiastic participants discussed the science and implications of space weather with our specialists.

We talked a lot about the various risks of a severe space weather event, and the roles of different groups. Unsurprisingly, there were a lot of questions! We’ll be posting some of the most common questions along with some answers on the website soon. Meanwhile, we’re raring to go for the next event this Saturday. Don’t worry if you aren’t involved in the weekend workshops – you can still give us your views through the website. We’re keen to hear from as many people as possible.
